New French envoy vows to deepen Bangladesh-France ties in trade, culture

DHAKA, Oct 8, 2025 (BSS) - Newly appointed French Ambassador to Bangladesh 
Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet has expressed his strong commitment to further 
strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and France, particularly 
in the areas of trade, investment, education, and cultural exchange.

According to a message received here today, Ambassador Séré-Charlet held a 
breakfast meeting on Wednesday with a group of French business leaders 
operating in Bangladesh, where he underscored the growing opportunities for 
French enterprises in the country's rapidly developing economy.

The envoy also made his maiden visit to Alliance Française de Dhaka, a 
prominent cultural institution that has served as a bridge of friendship 
between the two nations for 65 years.

During the visit, Ambassador Séré-Charlet interacted with enthusiastic French 
learners, explored the vibrant art gallery, and engaged with the dynamic 
Alliance Française team, appreciating their contribution to fostering cross-
cultural understanding and creativity.
