2 Jubo League, BCL leaders arrested in city

DHAKA, Oct 8, 2025 (BSS) - The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime 
(CTTC) on Tuesday arrested two leaders of Jubo League and banned Bangladesh 
Chhatra League (BCL) leaders in separate raids in the capital's Badda and 
Shyamoli areas.
 
The detainees were identified as Jubo League leader Lazli Akhter Labanya 
(40), an accused in seven cases and organizing secretary of the banned BCL's 
Dhaka Kabi Nazrul Government College unit, Amir Hamza (28).
 
A smart team of CTTC conducted a raid in the Badda police station area of the 
capital based on a secret tip-off and arrested Jubo League leader Labanya 
around 2:30pm on Tuesday, said a police press release.
 
According to a media report, the arrestee Labanya and her husband had 
defrauded huge money from countless youths in the name of providing them with 
jobs, it said.
 
There are seven cases against Labanya with various police stations.
 
In another operation, CTTC arrested BCL leader Amir Hamza in a raid conducted 
in the Shyamoli area of the capital.
 
Hamza took part in a sudden procession in front of Agargaon Passport Office 
in the capital on September 24, 2025, and shared the protest march on 
Facebook Live.
