DHAKA, Oct 9, 2025 (BSS) – The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has issued a set of directives to all its offices and airports across the country to enhance cyber security and remain alert against potential cyber-attacks targeting aviation systems.

In a circular signed by Air Commodore Abu Sayeed Md Mabroor Khan, Member (Operations and Planning), CAAB urged all concerned to maintain heightened vigilance following reports of cyber-attacks on foreign airports.

The directive called for immediate implementation of preventive measures to safeguard Bangladesh’s aviation network from possible threats.

The measures include using strong passwords and changing them regularly, avoiding suspicious emails and links, keeping antivirus and software updated, and refraining from using pirated or unauthorized programs.

Officials have also been instructed to use only official email accounts under the caab.gov.bd domain, enable multi-factor authentication (MFA), and maintain regular data backups.

The notice further advised officials not to use public Wi-Fi networks and to refrain from clicking on suspicious attachments or links received through social media or messaging platforms such as WhatsApp or Messenger.

CAAB directed that any suspected cyber-attack or security incident must be reported immediately to the CAAB-CIRT Team, the IT Division, and the National Cyber Incident Response Team (NCSA) for prompt response and mitigation.

The aviation regulator issued the instructions as part of its regular efforts to ensure the safety and integrity of Bangladesh’s civil aviation infrastructure.
