DHAKA, Oct 10, 2025 (BSS)- The Sada Dal, BNP backed teachers’ panel of the Dhaka University, expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Professor Emeritus of English Department Syed Manzoorul Islam.

In a condolence message today,  Sada Dal Convener Prof. Morshed Hasan Khan along with Joint Conveners Professor Dr. Abdus Salam and Professor Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Sarkar expressed the sock.

“Professor Syed Manzoorul Islam was a distinguished academic, essayist, researcher, and eminent Rabindra scholar. He authored and edited over a hundred books and was known as a progressive intellectual who inspired many through his thought and action in the pursuit of social progress,” they said in the statement. 

“We express our profound grief at his passing and pay our deepest respects to his extraordinary life and contributions. May Almighty Allah grant him Jannah and eternal peace,” they.

Prof. Manzoorul Islam passed away this afternoon while undergoing treatment at a city hospitalhere at the age of his 74.
