Jamaat leader pledges support for recognition, MPO enlistment of disability schools

DHAKA, Nov 18, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Professor Mujibur Rahman today said the party would make its best possible efforts to ensure the government’s recognition and MPO enlistment of special schools for children with disabilities.

He made the remarks while addressing a meeting of the central committee of the Bangladesh Coordinating Council of Schools for person with disabilities held at the Jamaat-e-Islami central office.

Professor Rahman said, “An all-party committee would be formed to pursue the recognition and MPO enlistment of the disability and autistic schools that have been established nationwide.”

The committee is scheduled to meet the Social Welfare Adviser at 2:30pm tomorrow, he said.

The meeting expressed hope that the Adviser would take effective measures toward recognizing the schools and bringing them under the MPO system.

Chaired by Md. Elias Raj, president of Bangladesh Coordinating Council of Schools for person with disabilities, it was also addressed by the leaders of the platform including AHM Saleh Belal, Humayun Kabir, A Salam and Md. Suruzzaman.
