DHAKA, Nov 18, 2025 (BSS) – Jony Bhuiyan, the prime accused in the case lodged over the killing of Pallabi Thana Jubo Dal leader Golam Kibria, today gave a statement under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), confessing to killing the victim  inside a hardware store.
 
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Arifur Rahman recorded his confessional statement and ordered him back to jail afterwards.
 
Locals caught Jony in Pallabi Section-12 area late on November 17 and handed him over to the police.
 
According to the case statement, three masked and helmeted assailants entered the store at around 6.30 pm, located in Mirpur-12 Block-C under Pallabi Police Station and shot Kibria dead. The victim’s widow, Sabiha Akter Dina, filed the case today, naming five people and seven to eight unidentified others.
