1,235 litres of illegaly stored fuel seized in Khulna; 60,000 tk fined

KHULNA, April 2, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court in Khulna seized 1,235 litres of illegaly stored fuel in a drive in the Eastern Gate area of Phultala upazila on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a RAB-6 press release issued last night, the drive was jointly conducted by members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-6) and the local administration.

During the operation, the mobile court fined Messrs Naoshin Enterprise Tk 60,000, with a provision of 30 days' imprisonment in default of payment.

Special commander of RAB-6, Nazmul Islam said the drive was carried out based on intelligence information in the Eastern Gate area under Phultala upazila of the district.

According to him the team seized a total of 7,125 litres of fuel oil from the petrol pump, of which 5,890 litres were legally approved.

Later, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Rizwanur Rashid arrived at the scene and conducted the mobile court proceedings.

The magistrate said that while 5,890 litres of the seized fuel were legally approved, the remaining 1,235 litres were found to be unauthorized and were subsequently seized, the RAB-6 press release added.
