RCC holds meeting with department heads on development works

RAJSHAHI, April 2, 2026 (BSS) - Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) today held an exchange of views meeting with heads of four internal departments to review ongoing development activities in the city.

Organised by the Engineering Department, the meeting was held at the City Hall conference room of Nagar Bhaban with RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton as the chief guest.

Addressing the meeting, the administrator said the government is working to build a new Bangladesh and has entrusted him with the responsibility to serve the residents of Rajshahi. 

He expressed his commitment to utilising the opportunity for the welfare of the city dwellers.

The meeting discussed a range of development issues, including conducting a joint re-survey to assess road damage caused by pipeline installation work of Rajshahi WASA and formulating plans to widen the Padma River protection embankment from Hi-Tech Park to Kazla.

Other issues included construction of the Padma Driveway in coordination with the Water Development Board, canal excavation programmes, relocation of the BTCL boundary wall to ease traffic congestion at Rajshahi Railgate and strengthening security at all internal railway crossings in the city.

The meeting was chaired by RCC Chief Executive Officer Rezaul Karim.

Superintending Engineer Ahmad Al Moeen Parag presented detailed information on the ongoing development projects of the city corporation.
