CHATTOGRAM, April 2, 2026 (BSS) - A joint drive by the Bangladesh Coast Guard and the Bangladesh Navy has seized 37,000 litres of illegally stored diesel from a tanker at Sadarghat in the port city.

Port Secretary Syed Refayet Hamim confirmed the matter on Thursday night.

He said the drive was carried out at the Sadarghat area of Chattogram Port Authority following a tip-off.

During the operation, law enforcers discovered a large quantity of diesel stored illegally on board the tanker.

Legal proceedings are underway against those involved, the port secretary said, adding that drives against illegal storage and trading of fuel will continue.
