Emergency meeting held to prevent measles outbreak in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, April 2, 2026 (BSS) - An emergency meeting was held today at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner in Manikganj to take measures to prevent a possible measles outbreak in the district.

Deputy Commissioner Nazmun Ara Sultana presided over the meeting.

Civil Surgeon Dr AKM Mofakhkhar Islam presented a detailed overview of the measles situation in the district. 

He said vaccination programmes would begin as soon as vaccine supplies are ensured by the government. He also urged people not to panic over the situation.

Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Nazmul Hasan Khan, Deputy Director of Islamic Foundation Md Shakhawat Hossain, and District Information Officer Md Nur Hossain attended the meeting.
