Bangladesh to observe International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Dec 3

DHAKA, Nov 24, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh will observe the 34th International Day of Persons with Disabilities and the 27th National Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3.

The Day will be observed in Bangladesh aligning with this year's UN theme: "Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress."

To commemorate the day, a three-day disability development fair, along with a discussion meeting and cultural programme, will be held from December 3-5 at the National Disability Development Foundation (NDDF) campus in Mirpur, Dhaka.

Social Welfare Ministry Adviser Sharmeen Soneya Murshid is expected to attend the programme as the chief guest while Secretary Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf will preside over the event. 

Persons with disabilities and students from different institutions will take part in the fair and its activities.

The announcement came through an official notification from the National Disability Development Foundation under the Ministry of Social Welfare.
