International Day of Persons with Disabilities observed in Narail

NARAIL, Dec 3, 2025 (BSS) - The 34th International and 27th National International Day of Persons with Disabilities was observed in the district today with the theme 'Building a disability-inclusive society, accelerating social progress.'

To mark the day, a rally was held in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office at 10:30 am under the initiative of the district administration, the District Social Services Office and the Disability Services and Support Center.

A total of 11 persons with disabilities received free wheelchairs, one received an elbow crutch and another received a walker.

Later, a discussion was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office.

Deputy Commissioner Dr Mohammad Abdul Salam was present as the chief guest.

Deputy Director of District Social Services Office Z. M. Mizanur Rahman Khan presided over the programme while Narail Sadar Hospital Social Service Officer Toma Roy moderated. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Lincon Biswas spoke as special guest.
