42 executive magistrates deployed in Ctg ahead of polls

CHATTOGRAM, Dec 13, 2025 (BSS) - District administration has deployed 42 executive magistrates across all 16 parliamentary constituencies in Chattogram city and district to ensure strict compliance with the election code of conduct ahead of the upcoming national polls.

District Commissioner and District Magistrate Md Zahidul Islam Meah issued an office order on Friday evening assigning the executive magistrates to conduct mobile courts in their respective jurisdictions with a view to holding the election free, fair and credible.

Of the total, 12 executive magistrates have been deployed in six city and adjacent constituencies, while the remaining 30 will perform their duties in 10 constituencies of the district.

Chattogram Regional Election Officer Md Belayet Hossain Chowdhury said mobile courts would operate in every constituency to ensure that the election code of conduct announced by the Election Commission is strictly followed by all concerned, including candidates.

Additional District Magistrate Syed Mahbubul Haque told BSS that the assigned executive magistrates have already started performing their duties in their respective areas from Friday and will continue their activities until February 14, two days after the polls.
