DHAKA, Dec 14, 2025 (BSS) - The Central Intelligence Cell (CIC) of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has frozen all bank accounts of Faisal Karim Masud, his company Apple Soft IT Limited, and his family members on suspicion of his involvement in the shooting of Sharif Osman Hadi, a prospective independent candidate in the upcoming national polls.

A top CIC official, preferring anonymity, confirmed the developments to BSS and said the move was taken as part of an ongoing investigation.

"We have frozen all the bank accounts of Faisal Karim Masud, his company Apple Soft IT Limited, and his family members in connection with the matter," the official added.

The CIC official said the decision was taken to prevent any potential transfer or concealment of funds while the probe is underway to determine whether there was any funding to carry out the incident.

Law enforcement agencies are continuing their investigation into the shooting of Hadi, while financial intelligence authorities are examining possible financial links and transactions related to the case.

Earlier, helmet-wearing miscreants on a motorcycle shot Hadi, spokesperson for Inqilab Moncho, in the capital's Paltan area on December 12, leaving him critically injured.

According to investigators, one of the attackers has been identified as Faisal Karim Masud. The interim government announced a Tk 50 lakh reward for information leading to his arrest.
