649 more held in Operation Devil Hunt in 24hrs

DHAKA, Dec 21, 2025 (BSS) - In the ongoing nationwide Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2, the police have arrested 649 more crime suspects and seized 14 firearms over the past 24 hours. 

The Police Headquarters in a statement confirmed the arrests and seizure. 

Apart from them, the police have arrested 5,949 people in the operation, the Home Ministry confirmed on Saturday night. 

The large-scale operation is going on involving extensive vehicle checks across multiple areas to curb illegal activities.

During the operation, police searched 20,333 motorcycles and 17,923 cars. As a result of the searches, 356 illegal motorcycles were seized for violations related to registration and other legal requirements.

Authorities stated that the operation is ongoing and aims to strengthen law enforcement, improve public safety, and crack down on criminal activities.

The nationwide security drive relaunched on December 13 to curb illegal activities, recovering unlawful arms, and to strengthen law and order ahead of the upcoming national parliamentary elections.
