DHAKA, Dec 24, 2025 (BSS) - Police have arrested 8,597 crime suspects and seized 85 firearms since the launch of Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2, the Police Headquarters said in a statement.
During the nationwide operation, law enforcement agencies searched 258,168 motorcycles and 264,411 vehicles.
As a result, 3,394 illegal motorcycles were seized for registration violations and other legal irregularities.
Authorities said the ongoing operation is aimed at strengthening law enforcement, improving public safety, and cracking down on criminal activities across the country.
The nationwide security drive was re-launched on December 13 to curb illegal activities, recover unlawful arms, and maintain law and order ahead of the upcoming national parliamentary elections.
