Charge sheets filed in 106 cases over July Uprising; 2,830 people recommended for acquittal

DHAKA, Dec 2, 2025 (BSS) – Charge sheets have been submitted in 106 cases filed across the country in connection with the July Uprising, according to a statement issued today by the Police Headquarters.

Meanwhile, the interim investigation reports have been submitted to the court recommending the acquittal of 2,830 individuals in 437 July Uprising cases under Section 173(A) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Of the total cases, 31 involve murder, while 75 fall under other criminal sections. 

The murder cases occur at Pabna, Sirajganj, Bogra, Dhaka, Narayanganj, Cumilla, Chandpur, Feni, Kurigram, and Sherpur districts, as well as units under PBI, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, Chittagong Metropolitan Police, and Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

The 75 other cases were filed in Pabna, Sirajganj, Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Naogaon, Bogra, Dhaka, Narayanganj, Narsingdi, Tangail, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Sherpur, Jamalpur, Mymensingh, and Barguna districts, along with cases under PBI, CID, Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Barisal Metropolitan Police, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, Chittagong Metropolitan Police, and Rangpur Metropolitan Police.

The Police Headquarters said senior officers are overseeing the investigations to ensure proper handling of all cases related to the mass uprising. 

Efforts are underway to complete the investigations of the remaining cases and bring the perpetrators to justice.
