Dhaka, Dec 25, 2025 (BSS) - Islami Andolan Bangladesh (IAB) Ameer Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, popularly known as Charmonai Pir, has welcomed the return of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, saying his homecoming will have a positive impact on the country's politics.

In a statement issued today, Charmonai Pir said that Bangladesh's politics had remained unsettled for a long time, particularly because a major political party like the BNP had been deprived of direct leadership. "The return of Tarique Rahman will largely fill that vacuum," he said.

Referring to Tarique Rahman's return after 17 years, the IAB Ameer said it reminded people of the harsh reality of violent and vengeful politics under the ousted fascist regime, forcing Tarique Rahman to live in exile as a victim of political persecution.

He stressed that all political forces, including Tarique Rahman, should work to eliminate vengeance from the country's politics in the aftermath of the July uprising.

Charmonai Pir also expressed hope that the plans outlined by Tarique Rahman in his address would contribute to positive change, the development of a healthy political culture, and a permanent end to fascism in the country.
