BRUR Inqilab Manch demands justice for Hadi's assassination

RANGPUR, Dec 27, 2025 (BSS) - Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Inqilab Manch today held a sit-in programme demanding justice for the assassination of martyr Sharif Osman Hadi, a frontline fighter of the July Uprising. 
 
Inqilab Manch leaders, general students and activists took a stand at the Shaheed Abu Sayeed Memorial Square in the city's Park intersection area in frnt of the university this afternoon.
 
Speakers from the programme demanded the immediate arrest of those involved in the assassination of Osman Hadi, including the mastermind. At that time, the protesters raised various slogans.

Convener of BRUR Inqilab Mancha Zahid Hasan Joy, higher council member of Gano Adhikar Parishad Hanif Khan Sajeeb, former member-secretary of the Rangpur metropolitan anti-discrimination student movement Md Rahmat Ali, Rangpur metropolitan convener of Jatiya Chhatra Shakti Imtiaz Ahmed Imti, its member-secretary Hajimul Haque, organizer Khandaker Nahid Hasan and others participated in the sit-in programme. 
 
Calling on the government to take effective steps to arrest the murderers involved in Hadi's murder and complete the trial process quickly, the leaders said, Sharif Osman Hadi was martyred while fighting against Indian hegemony. 
 
Md Rahmat Ali said, "We are holding a sit-in protest against the assassination. Osman Hadi's murderers have taken up residence in India. We call on the Indian government to send these murderers back to their country." 
  
BRUR Inqilab Manch convener Zahid Hasan Joy said the longer the government delays, the more the sound of its fall will spread. Students and public from all over the country will take to the streets. 
 
Meanwhile, in the afternoon, students of Carmichael College held a huge sit-in at Lalbagh intersection in front of the college with the same demand.
