16 held in special operation in Paltan

DHAKA, Jan 12, 2026 (BSS) - Police have arrested 16 individuals involved in various criminal activities during a day-long special operation conducted in different areas under the Paltan Police station in the capital.


According to a press release of police, the special drive was carried out on Sunday to curb crime and maintain law and order in the area.


Those arrested include accused persons in several regular cases.


The arrested individuals are: Md. Faruk Hossain Khan (46), Md. Khokon Ali Akand (41), Md. Abul Kalam (40), Md. Kamrul Islam (24), Md. Faisal Hasan Roni (42), Md. Omar (21), Md. Arif Mia (35), Md. Saim alias Sajal (22), Silon Mia (30), Md. Bulbul (28), Md. Sohan (22), Md. Shamsul Islam (49), Md. Shyamal (50), Md. Shaon Hasan (19), Md. Rakib Hossain Bepari (27) and Foni Gazi (26).

Police said that after their arrest, all the accused were produced before the court.

Officials of Paltan Model Police Station stated that such special operations will continue regularly to ensure public safety and maintain law and order in the area.
