Five leaders of banned Chhatra League arrested in Cox’s Bazar

KISHOREGANJ, Jan 14, 2026 (BSS) - Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested five top leaders of the banned Chhatra League from Pakundia and Katiadi upazilas of Kishoreganj district.

They were arrested on Tuesday evening during a raid conducted in Maheshkhali area of Cox’s Bazar, based on secret information, according to RAB sources.

The arrested individuals are Pakundia Upazila Chhatra League general secretary Tofail Ahmed Tuhin, Katiadi Upazila Chhatra League president Sheikh Samrat Alamgir, general secretary Roni Khan, joint general secretary Habibur Rahman Rakib and Chhatra League leader Samad Ullah.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Katiadi Police Station Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the matter.
