Four rescued after truck collision on Kushtia-Meherpur Highway

DHAKA, Jan 25, 2026 (BSS) – Four people were rescued after a head-on collision between a truck and a mini-truck on Kushtia–Meherpur highway at Trimohini bypass under Kushtia Sadar Police Station this morning.

According to the National Emergency Service 999, the accident occurred around 8am. 

A caller, Kamrul Hasan, informed 999 that the drivers of both vehicles were trapped inside the wreckage, while the assistant drivers were seriously injured, and requested immediate rescue.

Following the call, 999 promptly alerted the Kushtia Fire Service Station and Kushtia Sadar Police Station. The emergency response was received by 999 caller Constable Tamim Ahmed and coordinated by 999 Fire Dispatcher Firefighter Md. Hanjalal.

Rescue teams from the Kushtia Fire Service and Sadar Police Station rushed to the scene and successfully rescued the two trapped drivers. Along with the two injured assistant drivers, all four victims were taken to Kushtia Sadar Hospital for treatment.

Authorities said further details about the accident will be known after investigation.
