DHAKA, Jan 25, 2026 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today imposed a travel ban on former Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah, his wife Afroza Zaman, daughter Ayesha Siddique, sons Asif Shahdat and Asif Mahdin.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order, allowing two separate petitions filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The anti-graft body in its plea said an investigation team has been formed to probe allegations of different types of corruption against Asaduzzaman Miah and his family members. The team in its primary investigation learned about different movable and immovable properties acquired by the accused, amassed illegally.

At this stage, if they managed to flee the country, the investigation might get hampered and that is why they should be barred from leaving the country, the plea added.
