CUMILLA, Jan 25, 2026 (BSS) - The High Court (HC) has declared valid the nomination of BNP leader Mobasher Alam Bhuiyan in the Cumilla-10 (Nangalkot-Lalmai) constituency.

The ruling came following a writ petition filed by Mobasher Alam Bhuiyan challenging the Election Commission’s earlier decision regarding his nomination.

Previously, Abdul Gafur Bhuiyan had been nominated by the BNP for this constituency, but his nomination was later cancelled due to concealment of information in his affidavit.

Meanwhile, Yasir Arafat, the Jamaat-e-Islami nominated candidate and former president of the Central Chhatra Shibir, is contesting the seat under the party’s Daripalla symbol.
