DHAKA, Jan 25, 2026 (BSS)- Adviser to the BNP Chairman and chief coordinator of BNP's election steering committee for Dhaka-17 constituency Abdus Salam today said as a proven leader like Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia, only Tarique Rahman can lead Bangladesh forward in the days to come.

“In the history of Bangladesh, the BNP has a glorious and bright past. The architect of that bright past was Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, who placed the country on a strong footing despite a fragile economy, famine, and a state of disorder. In the coming days, Tarique Rahman will be capable of taking the country towards the right track,” he said at an election campaign rally in   Dhaka-17 constituency.

He said that the people of this country have proven trust on   Tarique Rahman when he returned here as millions of people welcomed him.... This is a symbol of people’s love for him and he has already stood for their welfare and interests.

Only Tarique Rahman is capable of overhauling the current economy, social system, and foreign policy, Salam said adding to build the country, he has demonstrated his clear plan.

Tarique Rahman has told the people in the mammoth gathering ‘I have a plan.' No other political party has been able to present such a clear plan for the nation so far.” Salam added.
