3 railway staff temporarily suspended for carrying ticketless passengers

DHAKA, Feb 1, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh railway authorities have temporarily 
suspended three employees on charges of allowing passengers without tickets 
on board a train for allegedly taking money.

The Bangladesh Railway Chief Commercial Manager (East) issued the suspension 
order on Saturday.

According to the order, the suspended employees are Steward Md Arif, Steward 
Manager Md Jewel Rana and Conductor Guard Md Mostafizur Rahman Limon.

They allowed passengers without tickets on board the "Mahanagar Prabhati 
Express" train to Chattogram by taking money on January 18, it said.
 
The railway authorities took the matter seriously after publishing it on 
social media and conducted a preliminary investigation, the releases added.
 
It, however, said that the investigation team found that the allegation 
against the railway staff was true and they were temporarily suspended.

The railway authorities said that further investigation into the matter is 
underway and if the allegations are proven in the investigation, necessary 
action will be taken against those concerned as per the rules, according to 
the order.
