
RAJSHAHI, Feb 3, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman, along with senior leaders of the 11-party alliance, will attend an election rally in Rajshahi on February 5.
The rally, organised by the 11-party alliance, will be held at the historic Madrasa ground in the city, with final preparations now in the concluding stages. Organisers said that the event will see record participation, particularly by women activists, alongside the general public.
These details were shared by leaders of the Rajshahi Metropolitan Jamaat and the 11-party alliance at a press conference today.
Rajshahi Metropolitan Jamaat Neyeb-e-Ameer Advocate Abu Mohammad Selim, Secretary Shomoj Uddin Mondol, NCP Rajshahi Metropolitan Convener Mobashwer Ali, and other top leaders of the alliance in Rajshahi attended the press conference.
Dr Shafiqur Rahman will attend the rally as the chief guest. Special guests expected include NCP Chief Organizer (Northern Region) Sarjis Alam, Chhatra Shibir Central President Nurul Islam Saddam, and other central leaders of the 11-party alliance.
Speaking at the press briefing, alliance leaders said preparations for the rally, including stage construction, decoration and publicity work, are progressing rapidly. They expressed confidence that all technical and logistical arrangements will be completed by Wednesday.
Regarding participation, the leaders said the rally will feature a record number of women activists, along with large crowds of citizens. Extensive grassroots outreach and leaflet distribution have already been carried out ahead of the event.
To ensure a peaceful and orderly environment, the alliance has formed a special volunteer task force. Organisers said the rally at Rajshahi's historic Madrasa ground is expected to be conducted in a peaceful and festive atmosphere.
