Jamaat Ameer to join election rally in Tangail tomorrow

TANGAIL, Feb 3, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman will attend an election rally in Tangail tomorrow ahead of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad polls slated for February 12. 

The rally is scheduled to be held at Tangail Shahid Smriti Municipal Park at 2:00 pm tomorrow. Party sources said preparations and enthusiasm among Jamaat leaders and activists across the district have reached their peak in anticipation of the rally.

Dr Shafiqur Rahman will be accompanied by Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir Central President Nurul Islam Saddam and National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Coordinator for Southern Region Hasnat Abdullah.

To mark the Jamaat Ameer's arrival, a welcoming procession was organized today, after Asr prayers by the district Jamaat, starting from Shahid Smriti Municipal Park and covering major roads of Tangail town.

Party leaders said all arrangements for the rally, including venue inspection and stage preparation, have been completed. They said the rally would draw massive crowds and generate significant support for Jamaat-e-Islami.

Tangail city Jamaat Secretary Saiful Islam said, "Preparations for tomorrow's rally have been completed. With our combined activists and supporters, the crowd is expected to exceed hundreds of thousands. The arrival of our beloved leader has created immense enthusiasm. Tomorrow's rally is extremely important for Tangail, and our party chief will provide crucial guidance to all."

Tangail-5 (Sadar) 11-party alliance parliamentary candidate and district Jamaat Ameer Ahsan Habib Masud said, "All security and organizational arrangements have been finalized. This rally will create a new milestone in Tangail. We expect hundreds of thousands of Jamaat activists as well as supporters from the 11-party alliance to participate."
