BRAHMANBARIA, Feb 4, 2026 (BSS) - Brahmanbaria-6 constituency BNP-backed alliance candidate and Ganosamhati Andolon chief coordinator Zunaid Saki has pledged to develop Banchharampur as a safe area-safe for children and safe for women-so that no one becomes a victim of rape.

"We will not tolerate even a single rape in Banchharampur," he said during election campaigning in Banchharampur here today.

Earlier in the morning, Zunaid Saki began his campaign by visiting the grave of Nayan Mia, a Shaheed Chhatra Dal leader of the anti-fascist movement, at Char Shibpur in Sonarampur Union of Banchharampur, where he offered prayers and paid tribute.

During the campaign, Saki said their first task would be to resolve the gas problem in households across Banchharampur.

"LPG gas supplies will be made available at the union level. At the same time, roads in Banchharampur will be repaired on a priority basis," he added.

He said that construction of the Meghna Bridge, embankments along the Meghna River, investments in industries and factories, and diversified investments in agriculture are part of their plan.

Such investments, he said, can be made by expatriates from Banchharampur themselves.

He said they want to ensure education, healthcare, employment, and technological training for children and youth so that they can become entrepreneurs on their own.

He said they want to protect rivers, canals, and wetlands, and ensure fair shares for farmers, workers, and the working people.

Zunaid Saki also said they would take measures to ensure that youth do not fall into the grip of drugs or criminal elements.

"Here, Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, and Christians-we all want to live together with rights and dignity. We want to permanently stop political killings in Banchharampur," he said.
