DHAKA, Feb 4, 2026 (BSS)-  BNP Chairman’s Adviser and Chief Coordinator of the BNP Election Management Committee for Dhaka-17 constituency Bir Muktijoddha Abdus Salam today said BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is not the leader of any single party; he is a leader of Bangladesh.

He said, onece upon a time Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman spearheaded the country. In his absence, Begum Khaleda Zia led the nation. And now, people accepted Tarique Rahman as the leader of the country.”

Abdus Salam made the remarks during door-to-door campaign in support of Tarique Rahman at the ECB Chattar in the capital.

Pointing out the video clip of a Jamaat candidate from Dhaka-17 constituency gone viral yesterday, Abdus Salam said he strongly condemns the incident.

“The video clip exposed the true face of a certain party. Still they could not accept the Bangladesh Army. Since they took up arms during the Liberation War, they still remain trapped in a Pakistani mindset.”

He demanded that the concerned individual should be brought under the purview of law for making derogatory remarks and criticism about the army.

Salam further said, “Inshallah, Tarique Rahman will become the Prime Minister of Bangladesh in the coming days. To save Bangladesh and protect the country, there is no alternative to Tarique Rahman.”

Calling upon voters not only to cast their votes on election day but also to guard the polling centers, he said people should go to the polling stations early in the morning.

“No rigging should be allowed anywhere. The polling centers must be kept under guard until the vote counting is completed so that none can rig votes,” he added.

BNP Join Secretary General Humayun Kabir, Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) President Tabith Awal were present among others.
