Travel ban imposed on Salam Murshedy, wife

DHAKA, Feb 08, 2026 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on former lawmaker Abdus Salam Murshedy and his wife Sharmin Salma, over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order after allowing a petition filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The petition states that Abdus Salam Murshedy and others are under investigation for allegedly amassing crores through irregularities and corruption. Intelligence indicates they may flee the country, making it essential to bar their foreign travel to ensure a proper investigation, it added.
