Interim govt. promotes 12 non-cadre officers as senior assistant secretary

DHAKA, Feb 08, 2026 (BSS) – The government today promoted 12 non-cadre assistant secretaries as senior assistant secretaries with an official notification suggesting they would still not be treated as encadred officials.

“The government has promoted them, following the Rule 5 of ‘Bangladesh Secretariat (Non-Cadre) Gazetted Officers and Non-Gazetted Employee Recruitment Rules, 2014’,” the notification said.

The public administration ministry notification asked the 12 officers submit joining letters as non-cadre senior secretaries to the ministry initially as officers on special duty until they were sanctioned specific assignments.

The promoted officers are: Md Zulhas Ali Sarkar, Md Kabir Hossain, Md Abu Haris Miah, Afroza Begum, Md Abul Kalam Azad, Md Mamun Hossain, Mosammat Tahmina Khanam, Molla Sohag Hossain, Md Mostafizur Rahman, Md Kabir Uddin Hawlader, Md Aby Kais Akand and Md Habibur Rahman.
