NIB & ICDDR,B sign MoU for higher research, knowledge exchange

DHAKA, Feb 08, 2026 (BSS)- A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the National Institute of Biotechnology (NIB) under the Ministry of Science and Technology and the International Health Research Institute (ICDDR,B). 

The MoU was signed today at the meeting room of the Ministry of Science and Technology at the Bangladesh Secretariat, said a press release here.

NIB Director General Professor Dr Sagir Ahmed and ICDDR,B Executive Director Dr Tahmid Ahmed signed the MoU. 

Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology Md. Anwar Hossain was present as the chief guest at the event.

In his speech, the Secretary said that ICDDR,B is a reputable institution. This agreement will open new horizons of higher research, knowledge exchange and medical services between the two institutions, which will play a role in improving the quality of healthcare for the people, he added.

The Chairman of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, additional secretary, joint secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology and senior officials of both organizations were present at the event.
