DHAKA, Feb 8, 2026 (BSS) – Foreign Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain today said the Muslim world must invest more in education, science and technology to transform its education systems and bring meaningful change to people’s lives.

He made the remarks while gracing the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) and the SEACO Universities Network (SUN), held at the State Guest House Padma.

“The Muslim world remains backward in education, science and technology despite its vast human potential and rich intellectual heritage,” the Foreign Adviser said, stressing the need for greater investment to drive sustainable development and social progress.

Describing the MoU as a timely initiative, he expressed hope that the partnership would strengthen cooperation among OIC member states through joint research, faculty and student exchanges, and the sharing of technical and technological expertise.

The MoU was signed by Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of IUT, and Salahuddin Kasem Khan, Executive Chairman of the SEACO Foundation and a member of SUN, on behalf of their respective institutions.

Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam was also present at the ceremony.
