DHAKA, Feb 8, 2026 (BSS) - Addressing the nation this evening, National Citizen Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam declared that all incidents of enforced disappearances, killings, torture, false cases and attacks committed during the fascist Awami League era would be brought to justice.

He said for the past 15 years, fallen fascist Sheikh Hasina used the entire state machinery for disappearances, killings, imprisonment without trial, attacks, torture and false cases involving political wings and other state institutions.

Nahid said, "We clearly announce that all hidden criminals involved in disappearances, killings, torture, corruption and looting will be identified. Investigation and trial will be completed and real culprits will be punished."

He criticized the law enforcement forces for failing to act effectively under "Operation Devil Hunt," saying no significant arrests or weapon recoveries were made.

He also alleged that the accomplices of fascism are destroying evidence and obstructing investigations on enforced disappearances.

The former adviser concluded saying, "Our struggle will be to uproot the system of repression and the culture of impunity and erase all fascist tendencies of Awami rule from society."

He outlined a sweeping reform agenda emphasizing social justice, economic fairness, and accountable governance while sharply criticizing past governments for discrimination and neglect.
