DMP files 406 cases against traffic rule violations

DHAKA, Feb 08, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 406 cases against violation of traffic laws in one day 
across the capital.

A media release of the DMP today said that they filed those cases and realized the money on Saturday (February 7) through their regular drives against the traffic rule breakers.

A total of 185 motor vehicles were dumped and 101 vehicles were wrecked due to poor driving practices, said Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media 
and Public Relations Division) of the DMP.

Of the cases, DMP's Ramna traffic division filed 47 while Lalbagh division registered 36, Motijheel division filed 85, Wari division filed 54, Tejgaon 
division filed 25, Mirpur division filed 74, Uttara division filed 46 and Gulshan traffic division registered 39 cases during the last one day traffic 
management activities.

"The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets," the release said, adding that the DMP has been working to bring the traffic 
system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.
