DHAKA, March 10, 2026 (BSS) - The state-owned Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC (BSCPLC) has announced two special incentive packages to provide more affordable facilities to its customers in using international bandwidth to ensure the implementation of the government's election manifesto of ‘fast and reliable internet for all’.
With this new initiative, ISPs, IIGs and other telecommunication operators will get the opportunity to use international bandwidth at low cost, said a press release received here today.
Under the first package, special bonus facilities will be provided for the purchase of new IPLC capacity on the Cox's Bazar-Singapore (TUAS) route of the SEA-ME-WE 4 submarine cable system.
In this case, if a prepaid customer purchases 200G of new capacity, he will be given an additional 100G of capacity free of charge. Similarly, in the case of purchasing 10G of new capacity, another 10G of capacity will be provided as a bonus against every 10G.
Customers who have outstanding balances can also avail this facility if they provide a post-dated check for the full balance with a specific schedule for payment of the balances by 2026.
The offer will be applicable only for the purchase of new additional capacity and will be provided on a 'first come, first served' basis as long as the capacity is available. This package will be effective from today.
In addition, a “Limited Destination Bonus Bandwidth” package has been launched for zero outstanding prepaid customers under the IP transit service of Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC.
Under this package, customers will get up to 70 percent free bonus limited destination bandwidth subject to specified conditions. This facility will be provided from BSCPLC’s Kuakata or Cox’s Bazar POP and will be applicable to the destination bandwidth of the existing CDN providers connected to the organization. The package will be effective from April 1.
Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC, a state-owned company, operating under the Posts and Telecommunications Division, said that these new incentive packages will allow the country's internet service providers to use international bandwidth at a more affordable price (less than Taka 90 per megabit of data) and will play a positive role in the development of information technology-based and knowledge-based economy, it said.
