REHAB delegation pays courtesy call on Housing Minister

DHAKA, Mar 11, 2026 (BSS) - A delegation of the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) paid a courtesy call on Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher today.

The delegation, led by REHAB President Md Wahiduzzaman, met the minister at his office at the Secretariat here. 

Housing and Public Works Secretary Md Nazrul Islam was present during the meeting.

During the meeting, the minister urged REHAB to play an active role in making Dhaka a more livable city and ensuring affordable housing facilities for the common people.

He said Dhaka must be developed as a livable city for people of all classes and professions, alongside the affluent segment of society.

"Affordable housing facilities must be ensured for the general people," he added.

Members of the REHAB delegation included Senior Vice President Liaquat Ali Bhuiyan, Vice Presidents Mohammad Akhtar Biswas, Engr. Abdul Latif and Lion M.A. Awwal.

On the same day, a delegation of the Bangladesh Institute of Planners (BIP) also paid a courtesy call on the minister. 

RAJUK Chairman Engr. Md. Riazul Islam, Director of the Urban Development Directorate M. Mahmud Ali and RAJUK Chief Town Planner Md. Ashraful Islam were present during the meeting.

The BIP delegation was led by its President Dr. Muhammad Ariful Islam. Vice Presidents Dr. Farhana Ahmed, Abu Saleh Md. Salauddin and Maksud Hashem were also present at the meeting.
