FBI delegation pays courtesy call on CTTC Chief, discusses counterterrorism cooperation

DHAKA, Mar 11, 2026 (BSS) - A delegation from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) today paid a courtesy call on Md Masud Karim, Additional Commissioner of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

The meeting took place at the CTTC office in the capital, according to a DMP press release.

During the meeting, both sides discussed strengthening mutual cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Bangladesh and the United States. 

Issues related to combating terrorism, tackling transnational crime and exploring possible joint initiatives were also highlighted.

The US delegation was led by Suhail Dawood, Legal Attach‚ of the FBI/LIGAT at the US Embassy in New Delhi, India, who is responsible for Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives and Bhutan.

Officials expressed hope that the courtesy visit would further strengthen the existing partnership and cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Bangladesh and the United States in addressing security challenges.
