Four youths held with arms in Khulna

KHULNA, March 11, 2026 (BSS) – The Detective Branch (DB) of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) arrested four youths along with arms and drugs while they were allegedly preparing to commit a robbery in the GM Chowdhury Road area under Labonchara Police Station in the city early today.

Police also recovered a pistol cartridge, a machete, a knife and 84 Yaba tablets from their possession.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khulna Metropolitan DB Police Taimur Islam said a DB team conducted a raid around 10:30 am acting on a tip-off that a group of criminals had gathered in the area to prepare for a robbery ahead of the upcoming Eid festival.

During the drive, the team detained four suspects, including Md Ibrahim Shikdar, 30, who is accused in seven cases.

The other arrestees were identified as Md Naeem Khan, 28, son of Idris Khan of the Shipyard area; Md Rashed Khandakar, 30, son of late Jasim Khandakar of the Muslimpara Banshtola intersection area; and Md Arman Sheikh alias Arman Khalifa, 20, son of Abu Bakkar Sheikh of the Bosupara area.

Police said Arman has three cases filed against him, including drug-related offences.

Legal action has been taken against the arrested persons with Labonchara Police Station, the OC added.
