Fire service DG calls for transparent, service-oriented organization

DHAKA, Mar 11, 2026 (BSS)- Director General of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Brigadier General Muhammad Zahed Kamal has urged collective efforts to build the organization into a transparent, accountable and truly service-oriented one.

He made the call at a Darbar meeting with officers and employees at the headquarters of the Fire Service and Civil Defence here today.

The DG highlighted the initiatives recently undertaken by the organization and expressed satisfaction over the organisation’s response and operational activities in handling accidents across the country.

The DG honoured six civil defence personnel for successfully rescuing a child from a deep tube well in Raozan of Chattogram recently. He presented them “Director General’s Commendation” insignia and cash rewards.

Directors of the directorate, project directors and the Managing Director of the Welfare Trust, along with officials and employees of different levels working in Dhaka, attended the Darbar.

Deputy Directors of all divisions and district officials also joined the event online from their respective workplaces.
