Helpless Tuli Begum receives PM's gift in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, April 3, 2026 (BSS)- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman provided 
financial assistance and support to distressed Tuli Begum and her family 
while a report titled "Despite her children not looking after her, mother 
Tuli Begum struggles to survive by driving an auto-rickshaw" came to his 
attention. 

Accordingly, a delegation of "Amra BNP Poribar," led by Engineer Ashraf Uddin 
Bokul, MP, and adviser to the organisation, visited Tuli Begum in the 
Bargachi Malpara shelter area of Rajshahi today.

The delegation was accompanied by Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) 
Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton. During the visit, they inquired about 
the condition of Tuli Begum's family.
 
On behalf of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, also the chief patron of "Amra 
BNP Poribar, the delegation conveyed a message of sympathy, presented her 
with a new battery-powered auto-rickshaw, and provided financial assistance, 
assuring continued support.
 
Tuli Begum expressed her happiness upon receiving the Prime Minister's gift. 
Thanking him, she said, "I express my gratitude and thanks to Prime Minister 
Tarique Rahman for sending me this gift. He is a very kind-hearted person. I 
cannot fully express how happy I am. The new auto-rickshaw will help support 
my family's livelihood. I pray to Almighty Allah for the Prime Minister."
 
Engineer Ashraf Uddin Bokul said, "After seeing Tuli Begum's situation 
online, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman instructed us to stand by her. 
Accordingly, we have delivered a battery-powered auto-rickshaw and financial 
assistance."

He also said: "Prime Minister has been extending such support not only to 
Tuli Begum but also to numerous families affected by killings, enforced 
disappearances, and hardships across the country. Under his direction, we 
will continue and expand these activities on a larger scale."
 
RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton said, "Prime Minister Tarique Rahman 
is a humanitarian leader. Over the past 17 years, he has stood beside 
families affected by killings, enforced disappearances, and oppression."

"Whenever he becomes aware of someone in distress, he immediately directs 
support for them. Following his instructions, we stood by Tuli Begum. Under 
his leadership, we will move forward toward building a new Bangladesh," he 
added.
 
Members of "Amra BNP Poribar," including agriculturist Mokhchedul Momin 
Mithun, Masud Rana Liton, Farhad Ali Sajeeb, former BUET Chhatra Dal General 
Secretary Engineer Abu Hanif, Joint Secretary of Chhatra Dal Central 
Committee Hasnain Nahian Sajeeb, among others, were present at the time.
