Govt working to ease farmers' hardship thru canal re-excavation: Forhad

COX'S BAZAR, June 5, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Water Resources Forhad Hossain Azad today said the government is working to ease marginal farmers' hardships by ensuring irrigation facilities through canal re-excavation.

The state minister made the remarks while visiting the ongoing excavation work of Patli Khal at PM Khali in Cox's Bazar Sadar upazila this noon.

He said improved irrigation through canal re-excavation would enhance agricultural productivity and could potentially double crop production in the area.

Cox's Bazar-Ramu constituency Member of Parliament Lutfor Rahman Kajol, Union Parishad Chairman Mohammad Abdullah and other local leaders were present during the visit.
