DU emerges champion in nat'l moot court competition

DHAKA, June 8, 2026 (BSS) - University of Dhaka has emerged champion in the Professor Dr Khabir Uddin Ahmed National Moot Court Competition.

According to a press release issued by the university's Public Relations Office today, the competition was organized by the Society for Critical Legal Studies (SCLS) and held at the Faculty of Law of the University of Chittagong on June 5-6.

The Dhaka University Moot Court team comprised law students Jannatul Mawa Suchi and Jaid Ikram from the 2022-23 session, and Nafisa Tabassum from the 2023-24 session.

A total of 63 teams from 42 public and private universities across the country participated in the competition. 

The Dhaka University team demonstrated outstanding performance throughout the preliminary, quarterfinal, semifinal and grand final rounds to secure the championship title.

The prize-giving ceremony was attended by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Chittagong, judges of the High Court Division, academics and other distinguished personalities.
