
DHAKA, June 10, 2026 (BSS) - Eight more children died of measles-like symptoms across the country during the last 24 hours, raising the total number of infected patients to 1,039 during the period.
The information was disclosed in a press release sent from the Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today.
According to the press release, the number of suspected measles patients was 945 in the last 24 hours, while a total of 82,029 suspected measles cases were reported from March 15 to June 10.
During the last 24 hours, the number of confirmed measles patients was 94, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 9,927 from March 15 to date.
Besides, a total of 66,999 suspected measles patients were admitted to different hospitals from March 15 to June 10. During the same period, 63,145 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery.
The press release also mentioned that eight deaths were reported from suspected measles in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 547 people died of suspected measles across the country from March 15 to date.
So far, Dhaka division recorded the highest number of suspected measles cases with 38,219 patients. Among them, 6,891 were confirmed with measles.
