4 more die of measles, measles-like symptoms

DHAKA, June 15, 2026 (BSS) – Four children died from measles and measles-like symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). 

According to DGHS, one person died from confirmed measles in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths from confirmed measles to 93 between March 15 and June 15.

During the same 24-hour period, three children died with measles-like symptoms. Since March 15, a total of 563 children have died from measles-related symptoms, the release said.

The DGHS reported that 972 suspected measles cases were recorded in the last 24 hours. The cumulative number of suspected measles cases from March 15 to June 15 stood at 86,923.

A total of 64 confirmed measles cases were detected during the past 24 hours, raising the cumulative number of confirmed cases to 10,387 during the March 15-June 15 period.

The DGHS also said that 71,467 patients with suspected measles had been admitted to hospitals across the country between March 15 and June 15.

Of them, 67,878 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals during the same period.
