Abandoned Chinese rifle recovered from bushes behind Mirpur Model Police Station

DHAKA, July 22, 2026 (BSS) - Police recovered an abandoned Chinese rifle from bushes behind the Mirpur Model Police Station in the capital this morning.

According to Mirpur Model Police Station, the rusted firearm was found at around 10:45 am in a bushy area behind the station building during a search. 

The recovered weapon has been identified as a Chinese-made rifle bearing butt number 2136.

Police said the rifle was found abandoned and no suspect has been identified so far.

Legal proceedings have been initiated in connection with the recovery.
