DHAKA, Aug 9, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested 18 people allegedly involved in various crimes during a special operation in the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station area of the capital on Saturday. 

Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police conducted the drive as part of ongoing efforts to maintain law and order in the area, according to a press release issued by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). 
 
Police said the arrested individuals include accused in regular cases as well as people allegedly involved in various criminal activities.

The 18 arrestees have been sent to the appropriate court, the press release said.

Police added that such special operations will continue to maintain a stable law-and-order situation in the capital.
