DHAKA, Aug 13, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Air Force Inter-Base Swimming and Water Polo Competition 2026 concluded today at the Naval Headquarters Swimming Complex in Banani with an award-giving ceremony.

BAF Base Bir Uttam AK Khandker emerged champions in the swimming competition, winning six gold, four silver and seven bronze medals, while BAF Base Bir Sreshtho Matiur Rahman finished runners-up with four gold, seven silver and three bronze medals, said an ISPR release tonight. 

In the water polo competition, BAF Base Bir Uttam AK Khandker defeated BAF Base Zahurul Haque 5-4 to clinch the championship.

Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Plans) Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanveer Khan attended the final-day events as the chief guest and distributed prizes to the champion and runners-up teams.

Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Bashar Air Vice Marshal Syed Saidur Rahman, senior officers and personnel of different ranks were present at the ceremony.

Air Vice Marshal Syed Saidur Rahman inaugurated the five-day competition on August 9.

A total of seven Bangladesh Air Force teams participated in the competition, the ISPR added.
