Dhaka, Aug 15, 2026 (BSS) - The first meeting of the Chandpur District BCS Officers Forum, a non-political and welfare-oriented organization comprising serving and retired BCS cadre officers from Chandpur district, was held in the capital today (Saturday).

The meeting was held at 3:00 pm at the Officers' Club in Dhaka. Two committees were formed at the meeting with the aim of strengthening social bonds among the officers and formulating a permanent framework for the forum.

Dr. Md. Aminul Islam was made convener of a seven-member convening committee. The other members are: Md. Aminul Haque (joint convener), Sarker Abul Kalam Azad (joint convener), Md. Vikharuddoula Chowdhury (joint convener), Md. Zakir Hossain Kamal (member), Md. Zakir Hossain Jamal (member) and A.K.M. Rafiqul Islam (member).

Besides, an eight-member constitution sub-committee was formed with Dr. Md. Abdul Haque as convener. The members are Md. Shahid Ullah Mia, Md. Faruk Hossain, Md. Maksudur Rahman Patwari, Dr. Md. Shah Alam, Md. Vikharuddoula Chowdhury, Md. Moinul Islam Majumdar and Tania Taqassum.

The newly formed committees were entrusted with the responsibility of preparing a draft constitution and completing the membership enrolment process as soon as possible.
